Proastiq Dermo-Age Control. Sometimes miracles exist

I rarely get wonderful skin care remedies which I am ready to pray to. Rarely, but neatly. Now I'm just ready to make the day, when I received an email from one of the Proastiq creators - Grzegorz - with a proposal to test their products for stressed and aging skin, written down as the "memorable" one.

Proastiq Dermo-Age Control. Sometimes miracles exist

Two young men Grzegorz Piróg and Krystian Malek have 're-discovered' natural astaxanthin and its strong effects on human skin. 2 years ago Krystian learned about astaxanthin in Rzeszow University (Poland) where he has been studying. He then told Grzegorz about astaxanthin and its pros for the human skin.

They found out that there are no cosmetics based on astaxanthin widely available. Step by step, they'd got obsessed with an idea to make such cosmetics on their own. They had built a team of professionals to create really good dermo-cosmetics. That was 2 years ago, and now guys represent their brand Proastiq in 9 European countries.

Research shows that, due to astaxanthin's potent antioxidant activity, it may be beneficial in cardiovascular, immune, inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases. Some research supports the assumption that it may protect body tissues from oxidative and ultraviolet damage through its suppression of NF-κB activation. In addition to the compound’s powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative capabilities, evidence indicates that astaxanthin has the potential to modulate aging. Oxidative stress is believed to be a principal mechanism of aging so the enhancement of anti-oxidative protection and the inhibition of free radical production are biological pathways that may protect against oxidative damage, mitigating risk for age-associated disease and, perhaps, diminishing the rate of aging. The mechanism by which astaxanthin may be able to modulate aging is activation of the insulin signaling pathway, as well as upregulation of the FOXO3 gene. A 2011 review highlights promising aging-related outcomes in astaxanthin-related clinical trials for model organisms and, in humans.

Astaxanthin is 1,000 times stronger than vitamin C, 500 times than vitamin E and 10 times than the beta-carotene.

Beneficial properties of astaxanthin for the skin

  • successfully locates and eliminates free radicals, thereby inhibiting the aging process of the skin,
  • strengthens the protective function of the skin and helps prevent transepidermal water loss,
  • accelerates skin renewal, thereby making the skin more elastic and smoothed,
  • acting under the skin, improves the level of hydration and elasticity,
  • affects the regulatory functions of the skin,
  • helps reduce melanin discoloration,
  • affects collagen synthesis and growth factors. What is important, astaxanthin is not substituting the skin in its work, but stimulates the skin in regular production of collagen, making the skin maintain the proper elasticity,
  • protects the skin against damage from sun, works as a natural sunscreen.

Some details and my opinion about Proastiq

I have been testing two brand's products Proastiq Dermo-Age Control Intensive production day cream and Proastiqie Dermo-Age Control+ Repair night cream (all details and ingredients are available at Proastic's site). Except vegetal astaxanthin they contain hyaluronic acid and vitamin E. The night cream also contains vegetable oils and vitamin A.

Creams don't contain parabens, they are hypoallergenic, and, of course, dermatologically tested. Proastiq products are based at vegetal astaxanthin which is produced by microscopic alga Haematococcus pluvialis, so they are also can be called "cruelty-free".

My impressions: Creams have different looks and textures. Repair night cream looks like soft butter with a salmon color - oily, nutritious. Intensive production day cream looks like it has a water base + a certain amount of silicones which give it moist gloss. Ironically, the night cream, despite its "oily" type, is absorbed quickly and leaves no residue. But at the time, the day cream's absorption is delayed. I have to wait until I can apply makeup. Cream has been consumed quite slow, it pleases.

Effect? Oh, there it is! I am ready to dance and jump crazy. Before I tried Proastiq creams, I had been using Faberlic Prolixir: AntiAge series, which gave some effect in the form of strengthening elasticity and hydration, slightly "smoothing" sticking out folds. But those products have no effect comparing with what I saw, after some time of application of Proastiq creams. My wrinkles on the forehead and nose bridge smoothed almost to "zero"!

This is despite the fact that I can't stop making faces even for a second. Of course, my main "headache" - nasolabial wrinkles. But there is nothing to be done about it, as they say. Although Proastiq helped me with them too: the depth of nasolabial wrinkles decreased, and, so to speak, I was "thrown back" in time for about 5 years ago.
