I, too, was captured by the trend of berry and purple lipstick colors and, despite my love for calm shades, I decided to buy a Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 084 Amethyst Shimmer. I already have experience using products of Rimmel London. I loved lip lacquer and disappointed in nail polish. And today I'm sharing my impressions about using this longlasting lipstick.
Actually, I do not believe in the longlasting properties of lipsticks that are created by brands of mass market's level. So buzzword Longlasting, which is part of the title line of Rimmel's lipstick, didn't impact on my decision to purchase. Christmas discount and bright color did! :D I recently have a problem with purchasing lipstiks and, after "swatching" for the blog, throwing in a box and no more use them. Lipstick 084 Amethyst Shimmer, most likely will follow its predecessors. But let's take a look!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 084 Amethyst Shimmer - dark shade of fuchsia that, depending on the light, turns to wine and berry shades with abundance of purple shimmer, which gives to lipstick cold subtone. One layer of lipstick will be "just dark pink with purple tint," more layers will look closer to purple. I ask you to focus more on my words, than the photo - it's hard to discribe how I struggled, but my camera didn't want to show identical color on pics. In reality, on the bright light the lipstick has bright purple-pink shade, in the dark you can see more wine tones, lipstick can change the shade from lush burgundy to purple. By the way, not worth it to fear that lipstick will create the effect of "dead man's lips", despite of all contrivance with "amethyst shimmer" the lipstick has more berry color than purple. Texture is soft, silky, with smooth finish. Doesn't go to creases and beyond the lip contour. However, leaves prints everywhere, and you may not expect to keep this even within a couple of hours, not that all day.
As I said , because of my love for neutral shades this lipstick likely will go in the box and wait for it's moment of glory (when I want to do a makeup for the blog, or for a holiday look). But if you like bright colors and shades of purple or wine - I advise you not to ignore this lipstick, or maybe some other shades of the line. I share with also my photos with this lipstick. By the way, I used it to create the pics of my winter look ( although in reality, of course, I would have used the neutral shades).
