Eden Diodati. A Label of love. Named in part after the utopic garden, sources of inspiration range from the metaphorical universal ties of the human condition to the visual elements of botanical phases, elemental components of life, astronomy, minerals, neo-classical sculpture and molecular biology. The clasp of one of the bracelet cuffs for Autumn Winter 2014 replicates the molecular structure of Oxytocin, the hormone that makes us love and trust others. Our accessories are produced in a social cooperative in Rwanda. Here, women who survived the genocide many of whom contracted HIV during the conflict, have been given the support to utilize their skills and are rebuilding their lives through dignified enterprise. Our ready-to-wear garments are handmade in a social cooperative in Vicenza, Italy. Giving enhanced meaning to the ‘Made in Italy’ label, disenfranchised women, some of whom are physically and mentally disabled, are being empowered.
