Each Saturday I make a huge post in my Russian blog about futuristic or space stuff. Today the main subject is fashion futurism. I wrote a huge post about two branches of futuristic style - neo-futurism and anti-utopism. I love both, if we talk about apparel. But if we talk about ideology I love more optimistic neo-futurism.
Neo-futurism is a utopian ideology of dreamers who want to build perfect high-tech future, where art-design will be not only aesthetically perfect, but also will have absolute utility. As an antagonist, anti-utopism represents more realistic vision of the future - the future of decay of humanity, wars and survival. Both of these styles are perfectly represented in fashion. Light and neon shades, perfect lines and clear metal of neo-futurism, and dark and dirty shades of gray and khaki, and military silhouettes in anti-utopism.
